"95 percent of your murderers - murderers and murder victims - fit one MO", Bloomberg appears to say in audio leaked from an Aspen Institute speech in 2015.

Former New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg on Tuesday unveiled a massive state campaign staff that includes some of Ohio's most notable Democratic consultants and strategists. "That's true. Why? Because we put all the cops in the minority neighborhoods".

"One of the unintended consequences is people say, 'Oh my God, you are arresting kids for marijuana. You've got to get the guns out of the hands of people that are getting killed".

Trump pounced on the audio in an all-caps tweet Tuesday morning.

If that hits you as kinda hypocritical, apparently it also did for someone in the White House - who might have reminded Prez Trump about his immigration policies - or the fact he himself has publicly supported "stop & frisk". The tweet was later deleted.

Bloomberg, who has not participated in the nationally televised debates and will not be on the ballot in numerous early statewide nominating contests, has instead banked his candidacy on his comparatively strong name recognition and millions of dollars of personal expenditures into campaign advertising.

Bloomberg asked the Aspen Institute at the time to not distribute video of his appearance.

Ireland goes to the polls in most unpredictable General Election in years
Other parties have hammered Fine Gael over failings in health care, housing and homelessness. Otherwise, it could present an "existential threat, quot; to the Irish economy, he said".

The remarks ricocheted across social media after U.S. President Donald Trump posted an audio recording on Twitter, a sign Bloomberg faces greater scrutiny as he seeks the Democratic nomination for November's election.

The tweet had already been deleted by the time Bloomberg issued a statement about it.

Before he entered the Democratic primary past year, Bloomberg apologized for the stop-and-frisk policy. That's true in NY, that's true in virtually every city (inaudible). Of course, high crime areas should have the most police officers. That's true in NY. He was reportedly already considering a presidential run at the time, and likely figured his views wouldn't go over well with the general public. He added that he "can't change history" but now realizes "I was wrong".

"I should have done it faster and sooner".

Ignoring counsel from some aides, including senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner, to ignore Bloomberg and thus avoid elevating him in a Democratic field that remains unsettled, Trump has delivered frequent broadsides against the far-richer billionaire.

Critics pointed out that the Republican president has himself been a vocal supporter of stop-and-frisk policing and has previously been accused of racism.

Asked whether party unity or winning as many states as he could was his top priority, Sanders replied: "It's both, but I think...virtually all Democrats and a heck of a lot of Independents understand that it is absolutely imperative we defeat the most risky President in the modern history of this country".
