The Duchess of Cambridge wasn't the only royal who opted for a navy outfit on Thursday; her sister-in-law Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance at the Field of Remembrance service at Westminster Abbey wearing the same shade.

The Duke of Sussex who served two tours of Afghanistan during his ten years of service in the British Armed Forces-and Meghan stepped out to honor those who died in conflict at a service at Westminster Abbey's Field of Remembrance.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be royals, but at the end of the day they're just people, too.

That being said, there was some footage that was shared on their official Instagram account - Sussex Royal - and it showed Meghan having the time of her life with some of the kids there and chatting with their parents at the same time.

Leigh Smith said: "We had a party when Harry and Meghan got married and we've followed their story ever since. Archie's just got two teeth".

Monty Murrell, 83, from Basildon, who joined the army in 1954 before serving for seven years in Germany, Cyprus, Egypt and Libya, winning several medals, was one of the many veterans who joined the ceremony attended by the royals.

"The couple held her hands and they both said how cold they were and Meghan said she was very pretty".

The Duchess of Sussex attended with her husband, Prince Harry, with both royals laying crosses at the memorial.

The couple then stood silently as the Last Post was played by a bugler.

Coldstream Guards welfare officer, Capt. Colin Lewis told the magazine that it was was "great for the Duke and Duchess to take the time to truly understand the challenges they [military families] face".

Also in attendance will be the Queen, Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Andrew, Prince Edward and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, Princess Anne and Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, and the Duke of Kent.
