Rather than scouring through O'Brien's 28.6 million followers to look for suspect accounts, Feinberg wrote that she combed through the followers of Romney's lesser-known relatives with a focus on "ones that appeared to make an effort to hide their real identities". Mitt Romney positioning him as the GOP iconoclast poised to challenge President Donald Trump's unmitigated recklessness and possibly vote for his impeachment was published by The Atlantic on Sunday, October 20.

Romney is a leading Republican critic of Trump and among a few that have openly denounced the president's efforts to persuade Ukraine and China to investigate his political rivals.

That particularly juicy Pierre Delecto like, which was unearthed by Georgetown professor Don Moynihan who shared screenshots, Romney favorited a recent post that featured a picture of Rubio sitting in a massive throne that made him look tiny and included the caption, "I'm not sure there's ever been a photo that sums up a person's essence better than this does". Romney would not reveal the handle. "I won't give you the name of it, [but] I'm following 668 people". Ashley Feinberg assumed Romney would be following his family members with the secret Twitter persona, and she assumed correctly.

After a Slate reporter identified Romney's secret account under the name "Pierre Delecto", Romney, who represents Utah, confirmed to the Atlantic that the account was his.

But perhaps even more telling were Delecto's sparse tweets, several of which defended Romney. The Delecto account provided Romney with a means of speaking his mind regarding Trump's actions. His first follow was Romney's oldest son, Tagg, Feinberg found.

And while Delecto has tweeted just 10 times total, this only proved to Feinberg that the account was used for "lurking", as Romney described it.

Chile declares state of emergency amid student riots
She said the government subsidises nearly half the operating costs of the metro, one of Latin America's most modern. Now the subway services are non-operational and a curfew has been put in place in Santiago .

News first broke of the secret Twitter account in a profile piece written by McKay Coppins in The Atlantic. 'They don't have Mitt Romney, ' he said. Slate updated their story to reflect this and then about two hours later, updated the story again with a breakthrough: Romney's confession.

"Why are we talking about Pierre Delecto", one person asked.

Trump didn't answer a shouted question about whether Mulvaney would stay on at the end of the cabinet meeting.

It's unclear why Mitt chose the alias Pierre Delecto, which we can all agree sounds like the name of a softcore porn star.

Social media users quickly became obsessed with the weird moniker the senator chose for his alter ego.
